Guitarist Marcelo Espinoza

Recuerdos de la Alhambra
Marcelo Espinoza is a Chilean guitarist who started playing as a young child. He started learning by looking at his grandfather playing South American folk music. His Grandfather was a self thought player and was very good at it. Marcelo started playing with his guidance at the age of 8 and eventually asked his parents to attend the local conservatory to pursue the Classical Guitar after discovering an LP collection of Maestro Andres Segovia that was in the house. Marcelo attended a music conservatory in Santiago and then took off on his own with the help of a teacher and friend of his. Marcelo played in a flute and guitar duet for many years. He also played with his dad who had inherited the musical talent from his dad. I love Marcelo's interpretation of Recuerdos de la Alhambra. His phrasing is excellent and his tremolo flows marvelously. Bravo!
