My CDs and Videos

Through the following links, you will be able to hear my guitar playing. You can use it as reference for your own repertoire. You may also reproduce all or part of these pieces without breaking any copyright law as long as you name the performer and use it in non-profit websites or for non profit or beneficial causes.

All these pieces are or will eventually become part of the online video masterclass series I offer on mangore.com. I encourage that you become familiar with these masterpieces.

The pieces were recorded in different different studios and at different times in my life. The first CD, “Guitar Celebartion” was recorded in 4 different studios: Savastano Studios, Napoli-Italy 1983; IFU Studio, Montevideo-Uruguay 1987; The Music Connection, New York- USA 1988; Mangore studios, Aregua-Paraguay 1988. The CD would become the first Classical Guitar CD in Paraguayan History and it sure was a landmark in my life.

The Second CD, “Chaconne", was recorded at Vikingo Studio in 1997. My good friend Rodolfo Kramer offered me his beautiful studio and my wife as a producer and my sister Francesca as the main editor we were able to bring to life one of my greatest dreams which was to record the greatest piece ever written, Bach Chaconne in D minor.

Finally, the third CD “The Movies”, which I just finished recording is made of 100 movie soundtracks. I transcribed and teach each one of them through mangore.com. Some have never been recorded by any guitar player anywhere. All these fit the guitar majestically.

The title of the New CD is "The Movies" although the final title will be decided in the days prior to the actual manufacturing of the material. I recorded the 16 new pieces at my San Bernardino home overlooking Lake Ypacaraí in Central Paraguay. I opted for a home recording made using a good microphone and no digital altering of the recording has been added. What you hear is the pure sound of the guitar. It is a very genuine recording and one that I felt the urge to make a reality since the idea of a new CD had been lurking in the back of my mind for quite some time. The recording was made in the main living room of the house that has quite an outstanding acoustic quality to it. Some of the recordings were made in the early morning hours and others were made during the day and you will be able to tell which are which since you will probably hear birds birching in the background. Being Spring and being my home surrounded by nature in what you could call a semi-rural area, nature blossoms and I even had to re-record some tracks when some of the cocks that lurk around the house made their presence noticeable.

I consider these the most beautiful and representative movie soundtracks of the 20th century. Many of them have won Oscars and I think it would be fair to say that the best contemporary composers work for the movie industry. Some of the pieces were part of a movie that has had no impact as a movie but the soundtrack found its way to mark history. Such is the case of pieces like "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis and "Do you Know Where you're Going to" by Donna Summer. In other cases we are confronted with real musical giants. Such is the case with Ennio Morricone a music genius of the stature of Bach and Beethoven. A true genius who finds his way to the human heart and soul in ways that only the greatest masters can. The recording are all performed on one guitar, no dubbing or similar editing with no exception. All the pieces are part of the masterclass series I teach on mangore.com and can be found in the "Soundtracks" or "Program Music" section of the website under "Academy”.

I have arranged and fingered every single piece. Nevertheless, I want to thank all my teachers (especially Maestros Abel Carlevaro Andres Segovia and Narciso Yepes), for having been a lifelong inspiration. S.D.G.
