I started playing guitar 51 years ago, the year was 1969. That same year Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon and those of us who witnessed that life Changing moment did not realize how wide and profoundly the expansive wave of that achievement was going to impregnate every single activity where humans were involved. For many of us, to accomplish the seemingly impossible became the new way of doing things . I know though that in the past some fellow human beings have pulled off the seemingly impossible by reaching amazing heights. An example worth mentioning is Bach monumental feat of composing The Chaconne in D minor. But this was a more intimate achievement, unfortunately not one that was going to be broadcasted to the world. Bach wrote the initials S.D.G. (Soli Deo Gloria) on the score as a clear understanding of what had just been created and by whom. This is how Bach signed all his work. Although Santa Cecilia is the Patron Saint of musicians, I truly believe that Bach ought to be the co-patron Saint. Although the idea of achieving certain goals is a powerful motivator, I discovered that the path we walk in order to conquer each one of these goals is an even more beautiful discovery and that our lives will not be marked by what we accomplish but will be marked by the way we accomplish our goals.
